Invitation to Attend
Walk With Us to the Northern Territory in 2017.
The Northern Territory Chapter of the Australian Association of Special Education are very pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 2017 AASE National Conference at the Darwin Convention Centre, Darwin Waterfront Precinct on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th April, 2017.
The Conference’s theme, “Walk with Me” will focus on the journey a learner takes and the Conference Program will include four strands:
- Education: pre to post schooling
- Social emotional
- Practical strategies -‘hands on practice’.
The Conference Committee are delighted to have secured three keynote speakers.
- Professor George Sugai, University of Connecticut, USA
- Professor Elizabeth Elliott, University of Sydney and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead
- Associate Professor Helen Cahill, The University of Melbourne
Professor George Sugai is a world-renowned expert on positive behavioural interventions and supports. Professor Sugai will focus his presentations on the supports and interventions that delegates can then take home and share with colleagues, with the knowledge and skills to immediately implement these tools upon returning to their schools.

Professor Elliott is a research leader, both nationally and internationally, and has presented across the globe.
